Morocco Surf Trip 2019

Morocco Surf Trip 2019

Everything you need to know and more

After a very successful trip to Morocco last year Oxford University Surf Club is super excited to announce that we will be returning this year.

The dates are : Saturday 9th March (9th week) to Saturday 16th March. Full details of the trip are below. Check out the galleries page for photos from last year's Morocco trip.

We will be flying out to Agadir, and getting a 30 minute coach transfer to the laid-back fishing village of Taghazout. Once famous for its seafood and hippy culture, it has recently gained an international reputation as a result of its proximity to some of the finest right-hand point breaks in the world.

We will be staying in the centre of the village - minutes from the closest break and with easy access to a selection of cafés and restaurants with views over the ocean.

We will be staying at Roof House Taghazout, a small and traditionally styled hostel with a sunny roof terrace to check the surf from.

It's equipped with a ping-pong table, free wifi, and plenty of places to chill out after a long day in the waves.

We will be renting out boards from the hostel, and there will be a choice of foam boards for beginners, and shortboards, fishes, single-fins, and longboards for those more experienced.

We'll be offering the choice of either 6 days of surf lessons or 6 days of surf guiding (where we will be driven to the best spot of the day in the local area). These are offered at the same price.

At 10am Saturday 9th March we will travel by coach to London Stansted airport. We'll be flying London Stansted to Agadir both directions.

Outbound flight : Saturday 9th March 14.50 to 19.40.
Return flight : Saturday 16th March 20:05 to 22:55.

10kg hold luggage is £25 extra. 20kg hold luggage is £50 extra. Bringing your own surfboard is £100 extra. (Regrettably these are the airline's prices, apologies if they are higher than expected.)

The cost of the trip is £400 excluding hold luggage extras. Also, if you're not already a member you'll need to pay the £20 surf club lifetime membership fee.

Beyond that there are no extra hidden costs, everything is included - transport, flights, accommodation, insurance, surf hire, surf lessons.

Booking opens at 11am on Saturday 2nd. We expect to be sold out very quickly so make sure you get in quickly so you don't miss out.

When booking login then go to and fill in all your information. You'll need passport details and next-of-kin details to hand.

All the little details and questions you might have

Can I come?

Yep! The trip is open to anyone. That said you need to become an Oxford University Surf Club member (if you aren't already) - just create an account and follow the instructions to pay the £20 membership fee.

Does it matter what my level of surfing is?

Not at all. The trip is open to people of all abilities - from those who have never touched a surfboard through to advanced and professional surfers. Lessons are provided for beginners.

I've got a question that isn't answered here.

Sure thing. Either email us with your query, or come along to our Morocco evening info and chat session - details on email.
